How to play Sudoku

The goal of Sudoku is to fill in a 9×9 grid with digits so that each column, row, and 3×3 section contain the numbers between 1 to 9. At the beginning of the game, the 9×9 grid will have some of the squares filled in. Your job is to use logic to fill in the missing digits and complete the grid. Don't forget, a move is incorrect if:

• Any row contains more than one of the same number from 1 to 9
• Any column contains more than one of the same number from 1 to 9
• Any 3×3 grid contains more than one of the same number from 1 to 9

Sudoku Tips for Expert Level

Learning to play Sudoku can be a bit intimidating. Here are a few Sudoku tips tailored for the Expert level that you can use to improve your Sudoku skills.

• Tip 1: Learn the 'X-Wing' pattern. If a digit appears as a candidate in only two cells in two different rows, and these candidates fall within the same two columns, you can eliminate that digit from other candidates in those columns.
• Tip 2: Utilize 'Swordfish'. This is like an X-Wing but involves three rows and three columns. If a digit candidate appears in only 2 or 3 cells in three different rows, and these cells all fall within the same three columns, eliminate that candidate elsewhere in those columns.
